This is a large banjo and features a walnut neck, Pegheds brand geared tuners, goatskin hide and brass tacks. I made the rabbit inlay by hand. I use little tiny chisels. The gourd is very large, measuring 18" long by 11" across the bridge-width. The bridge in the pictures is placed for a 26" scale, so there is lots to play around with, in terms of scale length. The length of the banjo is 40 inches! This was a really fun build, and I love this gourd's deep and resonant sound. I grew the gourd here on our farm in Fairhope, Alabama.
