Like little thumbs
In the soft loam
The mushroom pushes
Upwards to call
The passing snail
To her woodland home
I had a wonderful mental walk through a dense and humid woodland while building and creating this banjo. The neck is made of walnut, and the 13 inch pot is a three-ply rim that I steambent out of walnut. It has an african mahogany rim cap. The head is goatskin. The tuners are geared Pegheds-brand tuners that are much easier to use than friction tuners. Geared tuners allow you to change tunings fairly quickly without too much hassle. The inlay was all done by hand, by me. I do not use any type of laser cutting or computer guided CNC on any part of my builds. I used different types of woods like sycamore, olive wood, black walnut, teak, etc. The tail piece is brass hardware. The dowel stick assembly is also brass. The strings are Aquila reds.
Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. I love to talk about banjos!
